Department of Labour Protection and Welfare of Thailand
on behalf of ASEAN-OSHNET Secretariat gave opening speech on the occasion
of the World Day of Safety and Health at Work 2022 hosting virtually by Lao PDR

On 25 May, 2022. Mr. Sompot Kwangkaew, a deputy director-general of department of labour protection and welfare, gave opening speech on behalf of ASEAN-OSHNET Secretariat on the occasion the World Day of Safety and Health at Work 2022 hosting virtually by Lao PDR in the context of “Act together to build a positive safety and health culture”. There were approximately 100 participants from public and private sector of Lao PDR, International Labour Organization (ILO), World Health Organization (WHO), and ASEAN-OSHNET Secretariat.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness on Safety and Health at Work among government sectors and all social partners called “Social dialogue” in order to drive the implementation of Safety and Health and safety culture in Lao PDR. ASEAN-OSHNET promoted “The ASEAN-OSHNET Award” which is one of the activities associated with the theme “Act together to build a positive safety and health culture” and encourage companies in Lao PDR to be nominated. The award aims to encourage and promote enterprises to recognize, implement and promote Occupational Safety and Health at work among governments and parties from ASEAN Members States (AMS).
